Ali works in DREEAM as the simulation lead. This entails keeping an overview of all simulation that takes place for both internal and external courses. This also involves management of the cohort of simulated patients who are unique in their affiliation with the Emergency Department (ED). She particularly enjoys applying the make up to create the appearance of realistic injuries.

Her background is in nursing, arriving in the ED at QMC as a newly qualified nurse over 20 years ago. She has since undertaken a degree course to work as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP), a clinical role that she continues to enjoy.  She completed a Masters degree in Medical Education in 2016 where the dissertation was focused on the continuing professional development of simulated patients.

Outside of work Ali likes horse riding; this has been a passion since she was very young. Although she is a hardy soul in more inclement weather conditions she loves to read and has an extensive book collection.
