One of the key findings from the SCALES Project was that the most significant barrier for staff when implementing health improvement and prevention processes in practice was knowing where they could signpost people to in the community. We have therefore developed a catalogue of patient facing resources hosted on the NUH ED internet page, which can be accessed by following the link below:
General Health Information | NUH
ED staff working in the Emergency Department have all been provided with a QR code to enable patients to access the page directly through their smart phone. This ensures that the accessibility tool can be used to translate the page into different languages, change the text to a preferred size/ font and use the “read aloud” function. The page can also be printed for those patients that would prefer a paper copy.
We currently have services who can help with:
- Food Insecurity
- Alcohol and Substance Misuse
- Smoking
- Benefits, debt and legal advice
- Advice for people seeking asylum and refugees
- Housing
- Wellbeing and mental health
We also have specific pages for services specialising in support for Children and Young People living in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.
