Dr Chris Gough
Chris is one of the consultants involved with the research team in DREEAM. He acts as Principal Investigator for some of our studies, especially those in Children’s ED or involving pre-hospital care, and as Co-Investigator for others. He also offers time to teach across a variety of staff groups and students, and is leading on our evolving ultrasound teaching program.
Chris’s clinical work is split between working as a HEMS doctor on the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and as a consultant in our ED, where he takes the lead for sepsis, sedation and critical care.
Chris graduated from University of Nottingham in 2004 and has remained in the region throughout his training. He completed his training in Emergency Medicine in 2013 when he was appointed as a consultant here at NUH. Chris became involved in the research team as a trainee supporting the ProMiSE trial and hasn’t looked back.
Outside of ED, Chris’s main “hobby” is spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid follower of Formula 1 and has a soft spot for all things Discworld.
