Lucy Crocombe

Sepsis Lead

Lucy qualified in 2019 and worked as an Emergency Department and Acute Medicine rotational staff nurse in Cardiff for 2 years, before relocating to Nottingham, where she has worked in the Emergency department since, first as a staff nurse, and later as a deputy sister. Lucy now work as the ED Sepsis Lead Nurse, Interprofessional Educator for DREEAM, and works clinically as a Deputy Sister in the Emergency Department.

A large part of her role relates to sepsis, including sepsis education on the Registered Nurse ED and Acute Medicine induction, ongoing education for existing staff, and the quality improvement of sepsis care delivered in the Emergency Department. Lucy also has a keen interest in blood transfusion, and has focussed some time on increasing the numbers of registered nurses able to administer blood transfusions within ED and Acute medicine.

Lucy recently undertook the Quality, Service Improvement and Redesign programme, and is now a QSIR practitioner.

In her free time, Lucy teaches ballroom, latin and classical sequence dancing. She also enjoys swimming and cosying up with a good book!
