The aim of this course is to improve knowledge and confidence surrounding intravenous (IV) access decision making and insertion techniques. We use a consultant-led, interactive and hands-on approach to achieve our objectives. A selection of pre-course learning videos will allow all delegates to attend with a good baseline of theory in the techniques we are covering so as to ensure on the practical day as much time as possible is given to hands-on practice.
A variety of topics are covered throughout this course including:
- Ultrasound-guided IV access
- Intraosseous insertion
- Midline insertion
- Difficult cannulation
- Finger and heel-prick blood sampling
- Portacath access
