Course Overview
This three day course is designed to standardise pre-operative nurse’s patient assessment, by increasing their knowledge, competence and confidence. We aim to provide a good background knowledge of medical conditions that could affect their patient’s suitability for surgery, alongside an understanding of medications, previous surgeries, tests and investigations that could affect the patient’s management or journey. This exciting course combines pre-reading, didactic teaching, group work, case studies and simulation to consolidate learnt theory.
