We plan to teach the skills required for the role during your 2 day inductiom. Using part task trainers and then running through scenarios with Simulated Patients (SP), using hybrid simulation. The part task trainer is affixed to the SP, giving you the opportunity to do the procedures while having to communicate with the SP. We will run the simulations to round off your training weekend, providing feedback additionally. This will give you the best start for your first shift in the Emerhency Department (ED).

We will be training you on theory and practical of core clinical skills used regularly within ED, the below list shows the skills that you will be taught during the induction to prepare you for your time in ED as a CSA:

• Venepuncture
• Cannulation
• Blood cultures
• Blood Sugar and Ketone monitoring
• Urinalysis
• Bladder scanning
• Vital signs machines
• ECGs
• Swabbing
