Dr Kirsty Challen

Dr. Kirsty Challen (@KirstyChallen) is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and EM Research Lead at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust. She trained in North West England, acquiring a History of Medicine BSc, a PhD in Health Services Research, an anaesthetist husband and four children along the way. She is Chair of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine Gender Equity Committee, and involved with the RCEM Public Health and Informatics groups. Kirsty regards her inner toddler as a great asset to medicine and continues to ask “but WHY?” She is faculty for the Skeptics Guide to Emergency Medicine and creates the infographics called #PaperinaPic. When not at work she is happiest out running or skiing on a mountain.
