We were delighted to welcome eight Year 12 students from Djanogly City Academy on a week-long work experience placement during July. Nottingham University Hospitals Medicine division have a partnership with this local school that aims to raise aspirations and promote healthcare careers for young people.
The students attended an experience day back in April to discuss their career interests in healthcare and meet Medicine division colleagues. Placements were then arranged to shadow teams across HCOP, Acute Medicine, Respiratory and Heart Services, including time with doctors, nurses, therapists, pharmacists and others, matching the students’ interests where possible.
We supported the students and provided a thorough induction including a whole day of skills stations where they could try out some practical activities.
