This is an observational study looking at patients undergoing elevated risk non-cardiac surgery. The study aims to identify if metabolic equivalents (METS) can be estimated by a questionnaire and if so whether this can help predict perioperative major adverse cardiovascular events. There is little evidence to support this currently so a large multi-centre trial is needed to guide clinical practice.
