TEAM is a multicentre randomised trial comparing standard physiotherapy against early activity mobilisation in patients on the intensive care unit who require support with their breathing. The aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of early mobilisation during prolonged mechanical ventilation in relation to mortality, health status and cognitive function. The aim is to recruit 750 patients across all sites.
