This is multicentre randomised control trial looking at the cost-effectiveness and clinical effectiveness of sedation on AICU. It is a 3 armed trial comparing standard care (Propofol), Clonidine and Dexmedetomidine. It has been suggested that other, more expensive sedation drugs may be effective in reducing the duration of time the patient remains mechanically ventilated.
