This study aims to identify genetic susceptibility to, and mortality from, life threatening infections such as pneumonia, pancreatitis and influenza. Genetic information is collected from blood or saliva and then analysed with clinical information to understand how our genes affect clinical disease. In March 2020 the study was expanded to include patients with Coronavirus (Covid19) to understand if their genetic make-up could explain why some people become critically unwell if they are infected whilst others do not.
