Hemotion is a randomised study looking into the effect of giving a blood transfusion to patients who have suffered a head injury and who are admitted to an intensive care unit. Blood transfusions are given earlier than our standard practice to see if this improves outcomes for patients. We follow patients up for 6 months and measure how well they recover.
