Oxygen is one of the commonest drugs administered to patients in ICU. Despite this, there isn’t enough evidence to guide the clinical team in the use of oxygen in order to minimise potential harm from giving too little or too much oxygen. The aim of this study is to identify whether adults receiving mechanical ventilation and supplemental oxygen in ICU have better outcomes when they receive conservative oxygen therapy compared to usual oxygen therapy.
