Course Overview

This one-day course involves taught theory sessions in the morning and a simulation workshop in the afternoon to consolidate learnt skills.  Participants will attend sessions on:

  • Population health
  • Social determinants of health
  • Individual lifestyle factors
  • Screening, brief interventions and referral pathways

The workshop will enable participants to address lifestyle factors in simulated practise by undertaking a brief intervention within a supported environment.  There will be opportunity for group discussion to review good practice and feedback will be sought from the patient’s perspective via the simulated patient.

The course is aimed at anyone with a patient facing role in Nottinghamshire, including, but not limited to:

  • Clinicians of all grades
  • Nurses
  • Allied Health Professionals
  • Health Care Assistants
  • Students
